【摘要】:Sulfurdioxideisamajorairpollutant,commonlyformedbythecombustionofsulfur-bearingfuels.TheEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA)hassetprimaryandsecondaryairqualitystandards(7)thataredesignedtoprotectthepublichealthandwelfare.TheOccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration(OSHA)haspromulgatedexposurelimitsforsulfurdioxideinworkplaceatmospheres(8).Thesemethodshavebeenfoundsatisfactoryformeasuringsulfurdioxideinambientandworkplaceatmospheresovertherangespertinentin5.1and5.2.MethodAhasbeendesignedtocorrespondtotheEPA-DesignatedReferenceMethod(7)forthedeterminationofsulfurdioxide.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthebubblercollectionandcolorimetricdeterminationofsulfurdioxide(SO2)intheambientorworkplaceatmosphere.1.2ThesetestmethodsareapplicablefordeterminingSO2overtherangefromapproximately25g/m3(0.01ppm(v))to1000956;g/m3(0.4ppm(v)),correspondingtoasolutionconcentrationof0.03gSO2/mLto1.3gSO2/mL.Beer''slawisfollowedthroughtheworkinganalyticalrangefrom0.02gSO2/mLto1.4gSO2/mL.1.3Thelowerlimitofdetectionis0.075gSO2/mL(1),representinganairconcentrationof25gSO2/m3(0.01ppm(v))ina30-minsample,or13gSO2/m3(0.005ppm(v))ina24-hsample.1.4Thesetestmethodsincorporatesamplingforperiodsbetween30minand24h.1.5Thesetestmethodsdescribethedeterminationofthecollected(impinged)samples.AMethodAandaMethodBaredescribed.1.6MethodAispreferredoverMethodB,asitgivesthehighersensitivity,butithasahigherblank.ManualMethodBispH-dependent,butismoresuitablewithspectrometershavingaspectralbandwidthgreaterthan20nm.Note1Thesetestmethodsareapplicableatconcentrationsbelow25g/m3bysamplinglargervolumesofairiftheabsorptionefficiencyoftheparticularsystemisfirstdetermined,asdescribedinAnnexA4.Note2Concentrationshigherthan1000g/m3canbedeterminedbyusingsmallergasvolumes,largercollectionvolumes,orbysuitabledilutionofthecollectedsamplewithabsorbingsolutionpriortoanalysis.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,see8.3.1,Section9,andA3.11.
