【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthecoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionforplasticmaterialshavingcoefficientsofexpansiongreaterthan1x1061176;Cbyuseofavitreoussilicadilatometer.Atthetesttemperaturesandunderthestressesimposed,theplasticmaterialsshallhaveanegligiblecreeporelasticstrainrateorboth,insofarasthesepropertieswouldsignificantlyaffecttheaccuracyofthemeasurements.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.1.1.1TestMethodE228shallbeusedfortemperaturesotherthan30176;Cto30176;C.1.1.2Thistestmethodshallnotbeusedformeasurementsonmaterialshavingaverylowcoefficientofexpansion(lessthan1x1061176;C).Formaterialshavingverylowcoefficientofexpansion,interferometerorcapacitancetechniquesarerecommended.1.2Thethermalexpansionofaplasticiscomposedofareversiblecomponentonwhicharesuperimposedchangesinlengthduetochangesinmoisturecontent,curing,lossofplasticizerorsolvents,releaseofstresses,phasechangesandotherfactors.Thistestmethodisintendedfordeterminingthecoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionundertheexclusionofthesefactorsasfaraspossible.Ingeneral,itwillnotbepossibletoexcludetheeffectofthesefactorscompletely.Forthisreason,thetestmethodcanbeexpectedtogiveonlyanapproximationtothetruethermalexpansion.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
